Perioperative Data Analyst - Surgery

Providence is calling a Perioperative Data Analyst (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in the Surgery department at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.

This position is responsible for report development, management of data, reporting data, and analyzing data for Perioperative Services.

In this position you will:

  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the current information system and be able to accurately report data by the established deadlines.
  • Effectively oversee/perform accurate and timely data entry and synchronize data from work sheets and collection tools.
  • Effectively coordinate the extraction of data from the EMR and develop reports in order to submit and to validate clinical data to meet the various submissiondates.
  • Coordinate work to ensure the integrity of the data for comparative purposes and includes assistance in the developmentreports.
  • Serve as primary resource and educator for clinical data collection and analysis for administration, Perioperative Leadership, staff, andphysicians.
  • Ensure the integrity of data necessary for accurate analytical processes and well-informed decision making by participating in the design of reports.
  • Serve as a representative from Surgical Services on Perioperative relatedcommittees.
  • Collaborate with customers within the organization and partners with others in Providence Health System. to assess data needs and develop products/reports to meet these needs.
  • Design, maintain, and/or administer departmental databases, including accurate data entry into departmental databases.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelors degree in business information management, or a related field
  • Two years of experience in data entry, data display, data manipulation and information technology including personal computers, operating systems and application software.
  • Expertise in computer operations, database management, and extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office products with emphases in Excel. Solid decision-making skills and ability to demonstrate effective communication skills. Able to perform in an autonomous environment.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience in healthcare data analysis
  • Knowledge with Epic computer system. Ability to extract and manipulate data to develop reports and make recommendations for strategic planning.
