The Scoop:

The Pharmacy Relations Administrator is responsible for the administration of assigned pharmacy chains or provider types including Retail, Long Term Care, Mail Order, Specialty, Home Infusion, and/or Indian Tribe networks. The role is also responsible for researching and resolving complex network issues, including rate discrepancies and conflicts between pharmacy relationships and client business needs. The Pharmacy Relations Administrator cultivates effective relationships with pharmacy provider representatives, client representatives and internal stakeholders, including adherence to agreed-upon rules of engagement and roles & responsibilities and adheres to strict procedural and regulatory compliance quality standards, including thorough and accurate documentation, testing protocols, and claims analysis.

What You Get To Do:

  • Oversees assigned network pharmacies to ensure adherence to the terms of the MedCare Agreement, the Provider Services Manual, the Authorization to Participate, and PBM client business requirements
  • Ensures ongoing communication with participating pharmacies through regular direct communication with key contacts at assigned chain or association headquarters, regular meetings and network broadcasts
  • Serves as the knowledge and resource expert for the assigned book of pharmacies
  • Researches & resolves issues, determines areas of risk, and recommends solutions
  • Negotiates contract terms with assigned pharmacy chains and obtains agreement within established negotiating parameters
  • Mediates issues between MedImpact clients and network pharmacies, using knowledge of appropriate pharmacy practice as well as MedImpact pharmacy agreements to resolve issues in way that satisfies client concerns and complies with applicable regulations
  • Participates in the Implementation and Renewal processes by documenting and communicating client network requirements to ensure accurate solicitations and timely network development
  • Ensures that new client networks conform to commitments at go live
  • Creates and deploys client specific network diversification plans to minimize risk, leverage competition among providers, and maintain flexible and scalable network offerings
  • Promptly responds to service failures, resolves issues, and escalates concerns as appropriate

What You Need:

Education and/or Experience

For consideration candidates will need a Bachelors degree in a related field (or equivalent combination of work experience & education) along with three (3) to five (5) plus years job related experience. Customer support, network management, or account management experience is desired. PBM, pharmacy, and/or managed health care or equivalent experience is required. Pharmacy technician experience is a plus.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access) and MS Outlook. Experience using multiple business software applications desired.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Pharmacy Technician License or National Certification desired

  • Ability to communicate contract requirements in a professional manner, discuss contract terms with pharmacy partners and reach agreement within stated negotiation parameters
  • Ability to gather, document, and communicate business requirements and client specifications
