Job Summary

The Center for Transportation Equity, Decisions and Dollars (CTEDD) at the University of Texas, Arlington, the largest such grant ever awarded to a university in North Texas from the US Department of transportation, conducts unique and nationally significant transportation research on transportation policy issues, equity, shared mobility, technology and autonomous transportation. CTEDD has made significant partnerships in the region and the state, initiating research projects that assist local policy makers.

The Center for Transportation Equity, Decisions and Dollars (CTEDD) at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for a post-doctoral fellow in Transportation planning and related fields. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary research team of faculty, graduate students and research staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The post-doctoral fellow will be a key member of CTEDD, contributing to strategic planning and activities of the center, leading research projects and publications, writing competitive proposals, representing the center in meetings with potential partners/sponsors and mentorship and supervision of graduate research assistants.

Required Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in transportation, urban planning, real estate, geography, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and ability to lead a team of researchers.
  • Excellent writing skills (Preparation of manuscripts and assistance in proposal writing).
  • Strong background in travel modeling and quantitative research methods
  • Experience working with big data.
  • Proffered: Proficiency in statistical software packages such as R, STATA. HLM, SEM, Nlogit etc.
  • Proffered: Proficiency in transportation planning software packages such as TransCAD etc.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency in GIS (model builder, network analyst, etc.) and spatial analysis
