As the Position Title you will be

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Initiatives, the Product Manager of Professional Services is responsible for defining and managing a full range of professional and technology-related services, ensuring customer retention and developing new products/services based on market requirements to deliver market leading solutions that delight the customer and deliver value to company stakeholders in sales, marketing, and technology.

Responsible for the consultative, education and direct support of professional services surrounding the CCH Axcess Suite, and the core competencies will include business process re-engineering. This individual is responsible for proactive involvement in assessing client business requirements and ensuring comprehensive quality in client deliverables.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional project management, communications, and leadership skills. Additionally, this role will require in-depth industry and technical knowledge and the ability to effectively work with customers to improve their existing processes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

The Product Manager of Professional Services manages the entire product lifecycle of technology-related professional services for CPA firm clients, from strategic planning to tactical activities, spanning outsourced services, delivery of other services and implementation of integration services. The Product Manager is responsible for developing product requirements, planning releases, creating roadmaps and communicating roadmaps internally and externally. The Product Manager is also responsible for overseeing the execution and quality of all services. Go-to Market - In conjunction with Strategic Marketing representatives, develops and implements go-to-market plans, working with all departments to execute. This includes supporting Strategic Marketing representatives with tasks such as: creating collateral that accurately reflects the features & benefits of the solution; product training for sales team members; presenting to industry analysts to support product reviews; internal/external product release communications; User Conference and other conference attendance and presentations. Collaborate with customers and functional teams to create and evaluate recommendations to improve their existing processes, including identification of outside services, integration requirements, and other suggested action items. Assess client business requirement documentation and ensure comprehensive quality in all client deliverables. Create business requirements and workflow models for enterprise-level processes. Performs economic analysis for identified initiatives. Lead design and roadmap discussions and provide strategic direction on the final design and deployment approach. Conduct continuous improvement workshops internally and externally in the areas of process improvement and customer solutions. Stakeholder Management - Responsible for Stakeholder Management, engaging with key customer contacts, with Sales and Marketing, and Strategic Partnerships as required. Act as the bridge between business partners, development, sales, operations and executives. He/she will drive a solution set across delivery teams through market requirements, product contract, and positioning. Works with all members of product management team and other stakeholders to ensure consistency across solutions within Wolters Kluwer. Operational Support - Defines and supports administrative functions including order processing, order forms/contracts, product fulfillment, and operational performance measures. Market Research - Conducts market research via surveys and visits to customers/prospects to understand and specify business requirements to target market segments with current and future solutions. Monitors industry and technology trends and shares this information cross-functionally to assure that products are aligned with industry needs.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Some travel required - 10 - 15%

Education:

  • BS/BA in a Business-related field preferred
  • MBA preferred

Experience:

5 - 7 years of experience required including the following:

  • Prior experience managing technical professional services and/or outsourcing solutions (minimum 2 years required)
  • Prior experience driving process improvement activities (minimum 2 years required)
  • Hands-on data analysis experience (Excel, Sequel or other database, statistical)
  • Business Intelligence solutions
  • Prior experience implementing enterprise-level workflow software solutions
  • Working experience in one or more of these areas:
    • Tax, Audit and accounting industry
    • CPA market
    • Software and information services industries
    • Software as a Service (SaaS) products
  • Preferred
    • Six Sigma Certification
    • Current or former licensed CPA

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to learn the necessary skills to be a product manager in financial technology company
  • Tech savvy individual comfortable with hands-on evaluation and implementation of new tools
  • Passion and conviction for the customer, the problem and the product.
  • Demonstrated ability to break down complex situations into actionable requirements
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • High degree of ownership and get-it-done attitude
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven team player
  • Excellent & proven technical writing skills
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
