Your Impact The Production Planning Lead plans, prepares, issues, and controls production schedules and material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet net requirements. Identifies raw material and component requirement for production.
Heres where youll demonstrate your competencies:
Revises the production master plan in such a way that the finished product inventory is maintained within the goal and plans to provide support to a level of service according to the objectives of the organization.
Serves as first contact with manufacturing for matters of planning.
Responsible for inputting and maintaining scheduled receipts in Manugistics.
Alerts the worldwide planner about potential mistakes of demand established in the system.
Guides efforts to avoid delayed production releases, communicating to Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service and Purchasing to increase the material supply when customer service is at risk.
Responsible for developing and leading the action plan required when the projected supply is less than demand, so that the customer service impact is minimized.
Monitors load capacity in the assigned production lines and level load plans to meet net requirements. Communicates weekly UTS and ATMPS of the plan.
Responsible for managing the plan for new products and ensures the necessary WOS are available for launch. Continuously updates the team about any changes to the new product plans.
Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next level management.
Manages the phase in of products in a way that obsolete material inventory is minimized.
Ensures the quarterly SS updates are reflected with the production plan and manages the plan to ensure levels are continuously above SS.
Monitors all the standard operation procedures. Recommends changes and improvements to the procedure.
Proactively manage SLOB material and identify opportunities to reduce quarterly reserves. Implement processes to manage and reduce SLOB risks.
Daily management of production activities and priorities to expedite, when necessary, availability of raw material, production in process, release of products and movement of product to finished good inventory.
Analyzes product demand, sales patterns, forecasts, production specifications and plant capacity data and prepares reports to management.
Validates and maintains scheduling and planning parameters within the system. (e.g lead times, lot sizes, SS)
Leads monthly Supply S&OP. Our Needs Heres what well need from you:
BS degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain management, Engineering or related field is required. MS degree is a plus. Additional work experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
5+ years of production planning or Supply Chain experience is required.
Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to build positive relationships cross functionally.
Strong knowledge of the basic principles of planning, material requirements and inventories.
Strong knowledge and experience working with ERP and Advanced Planning Systems; specifically, SAP ECC & APO
End to End understanding of supply chain with a strong knowledge of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
Strong Microsoft Excel skills with proven ability to build and maintain complex worksheets.
Strong organizational skills, detail oriented
