Position: Project Manager - Direct Hire
Location: New York, NY
We are looking for a Project Manager to join our innovative technology department. This person will be expected to interact and collaborate with key stakeholders in managing existing mobile applications continued development and/or new apps. The ideal candidate has the experience to recognize project issues early and the skills to communicate these problems effectively while enabling solutions.
News Technology Services is creating a global platform that will power over 30+ native apps throughout the company. This person will have the opportunity to work with the developers and product managers working on this platform and for specific applications to ensure project and product objectives are met.
Provides day-to-day leadership for mobile delivery teams (product, project, UX and Design, QA, etc). Manages project managers at partner agencies to ensure they are delivering the right product against requirements.
Develops delivery plans and timelines for feature development on the platform and for brand migrations; closely monitors and tracks progress, resource allocation, dependencies and risks.
Scrum master for the team - running daily stand-ups, conducting sprint planning and pre-planning, and running retrospectives.
Partners with the Product Manager to understand and effectively convey product priorities and dependencies to development and delivery teams, explaining what the requirements are and why.
Works with teams to problem solve, jointly brainstorming solutions that meet business needs and make sense within the product and engineering constraints
Is a proactive advocate for the product vision, quality, and product roadmap, both in person and in online channels
Is responsive to team and client needs, concerns and changes in direction
Provides cohesive leadership and clear, effective communication and conflict resolution for the team
Develops and demonstrates expertise in mobile development practicesInterfaces with internal clients to:
Communicate value of the mobile platform
Manage two brand migrations onto the platform at any time, including: Gathering and prioritizing requirements, pushing back on product features as necessary to make sure Reel functions as a platform and not a one-off development shop
Establish prioritization and schedule for feature developments and enhancements, as well as for the sequencing of client projects the team takes onPartners with the SVP Engineering to:
Articulate product and platform vision
