Project Coordinator

RMS International, is a global leading importer of Toys, Activity, Arts and Crafts and Stationary, License product and seasonal goods.

Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a career minded individual in a fast growing company producing and providing toys for major retailers. We are looking to expand our purchasing and import department. The role is suited for someone with experience in procurement and experience in negotiating with overseas vendors. You will be working with a team of people to service orders from leading USA and Canadian retailers, following the supply chain from order to delivery.

As a Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing, tracking and delivering product orders to major US retailers on-time and in accordance to strict internal and customer specific product criteria. Most day to day activities consist of independent management of schedules, costs and other tasks.

Position Description:

  • Prepares purchase orders (POs) and request for quotes (RFQs)
  • Reviews vendor quotes and negotiates best price with vendors
  • Establishes new vendor relationships as required to meet project needs
  • Follows-up with vendors to determine status of orders
  • Expedites orders as required to maintain on-time order delivery
  • Communicates with all departments and resolves issues related to purchasing
  • Cross-trains with product development and sales
  • Reports directly to the Sourcing Manager
  • Collaborate with US and Asia teams on project timing, scope and costs.
  • Monitor and maintain product order scheduling ensuring key deliverable dates are met.
  • Report product order status weekly to upper management.
  • Communicate specific project and/or organizational goals interdepartmentally.
  • Skills:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous projects
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Work in face paced, dynamic environment and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task under pressure
  • Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 2+ years minimum experience leading cross functional teams in consumer Product Development and or order fulfillment.
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn, strong ability to multitask
  • Import experience preferred
  • Logistics experience preferred
