Project Engineer

The Engineering & Technology organization is a highly dynamic and growing organization that plays a vital role in providing mission-critical intelligence solutions by optimizing satellite constellations, processing data through its entire life cycle and developing reliable cutting-edge infrastructure for information dissemination across a global network and to a variety of programs.
You ll have an opportunity to work on world-class programs such as Orion, SBIRS, GPS-III, Commercial Vehicles, Deep Space Exploration, Classified Special Programs.
Within these Programs, You will provide IPT Business manager support for Software. Coordinate planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering products with the cost and schedule baseline of the SW IPT. Duties include ensuring timely reporting of monthly earned value, EAC threats and opportunities, variance analysis, change documentation and approvals, and annual CEAC BOEs. Responsible for coordinating and leading customer and inter-IPT coordination on yearly budgeting exercise with NASA and internal / external audit activities. Responsible for IPT fiscal year funding, budgeting and schedule reporting and maintenance including labor, material, minor subcontracts, IWTAs and travel. Responsible for IPT coordination with subcontract companies and SCAs. Responsible for EVMS execution in compliance with highly integrated Earned Value Management cost and schedule processes. Responsible for internal labor planning as coordinated with IPT leadership. Job would consist of business management with specific emphasis on all areas of EVM and familiarity with these concepts is an asset. Experience and thorough knowledge of SAP, integration and analyses. This position will be overseeing tools management for the SW IPT to include obtaining quotes on tools, submitting requests for tools to finance and tracking those PR/PO requests to closure, developing Bill of Materials, and submitting license costs through procurement.
Typically has 9 - 15 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
Must be capable of planning, coordinating, and statusing individuals and teams in software development activities.
Must have experience in leading costs, schedules and resources management to meet program milestones with proactive risk mitigation tasks.
Experience working with Earned Value Management.
Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, team oriented environment.
Must have demonstrated ability to communicate and coordinate with customers, teammates, and vendors.
Must have strong written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.
Desired Skills:
New business or proposal experience.
Earned Value experience.
Human space flight experience; Orion finance experience.
Previous experience working with Orion SW IPT.
Previous experience with Orion Business Rhythms.
