H&M is also a founding member of the ET&D Partnership, a collaborative industry partnership working to reduce fatalities, injuries, and illnesses in the construction industry is seeking a Project Manager to join our team working out of our Chantilly, Virginia Office. The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for managing large and complex low voltage infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have previous project management experience of at least 8 years and have industry knowledge that includes reading RFP s, blueprints, specifications, contractual language and project scheduling (Microsoft Project) and system documentation. The (PM) should be familiar with Microsoft Excel, P&L tracking reports, and have the ability to estimate scheduling of material and man-hours. In addition the PM must be proficient in communicating in both verbal and written form to field personnel as well as clients. The PM should be able to effectively develop a detailed (SOW) statement of work and estimates.
Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains project schedules, labor and material cost budgets to meet project completion schedules and cost budgets as directed. This may include multiple projects at one time based on size and duration.
  • Responsible for managing multiple Construction Managers and/or Foremen on different projects.
  • Proficient at identifying and initiating work-around procedures and working with other project managers and supervisors to assist in maintaining crew productivity during delays.
  • Ability to effectively manage a project of at least 25 craft personnel with little or no direction.
  • An excellent communicator able interface regularly with Customer, Architect, Construction manager, General Contractor on contractual, financial, cost accounting, scheduling, technical, and other areas related to the projects under his or her responsibility.
  • Responsible for the development of detailed status reports containing financial results, physical progress, productivity schedule and other issues, changes in scope etc. for projects under his/her responsibility.
  • Directs multiple Construction Managers and/or Foremen in realizing changes to the scope of work, and the documentation and approval of the change orders. Reports, coordinates and supervises all aspects of a project.
  • Responsible for preparing written proposals, including material and labor estimates.
  • Responsible for contract agreements and negotiations with potential subcontractors or minority vendors.
  • Develop relationships with local vendors and subcontractors.
  • Manage onsite vendors and subcontractors to ensure level of performance is within project scope.
  • Constantly monitors projects for P&L margins to meet or exceed estimates.
  • Ensures the quality of workmanship, safety and documentation per project. Performs at least one, Quality, and safety contact observation on each project weekly.
  • If required, initiates disciplinary action for those employees working under him or her.
  • Exhibits a superior ability to work independently performing site surveys for estimates, proposal preparation, or quality assurance. Provides documentation, reports, and information to operations as directed.
  • Initiates and monitors installation standards, and technical and supervisory training (OJT) sessions for Technicians and junior crewmembers.
  • Furthers oneself through ongoing education and certifications including but not limited to corporate or specialty courses.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 4 years experience in Project Management required.
  • Experience working in a GC organization or with General Contractors (GCs) is highly desirable.
  • Construction Management experience preferred
  • 5 years or more of related experience with voice and data infrastructure preferred
  • Experience with communication cabling, (supporting the following technologies: WIFI, DAS, AV and Data Centers) preferred
  • Experience using leadership skills to manage and motivate site supervisors and field personnel.
  • Industry related certifications such as PMP certification, Project Management Methodology certification, BICSI certification, HR, Personnel management, cost accounting, finance, scheduling, and construction management preferred.
  • Ability to pass a government back ground investigation, active Top Secret Clearance preferred.

This position requires the ability to work in an office setting, as well as, on active construction sites. This position includes, but is not limited to, time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders, lifting requirements of 25+ lbs. and may include some manual labor.
