Project Manager / Scrum Master

Primary job function is to serve as Scrum Master for multiple Scrum teams—ensure alignment with scrum framework by teams within the digital program. The role contributes and matures the program’s agile processes and ensures teams are following them to meet program goals. Along with functioning as scrum master within the digital program, this role will also contribute to the enterprise goal of transforming enterprise from a traditional project execution mindset to an agile mindset.

Ii. Essential Responsibilities

• Manage complex development projects using Scaled Agile Framework (“SAFe”) patterns and best practices, including leading Program Increment (“PI”) Planning activities multiple times throughout the year.
• Guide the Scrum Team on how to use Scrum and SAFe practices and patterns to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers.
• Partner with the Product Owner in user story creation, prioritization and Product Backlog refinement ensuring the team focuses on technical needs, including improvements to testing and deployment processes.
• Provide project management leadership for strategic initiatives as assigned, utilizing and JIRA project management application to manage projects and Scrum teams.
• Complete projects on time and within budget guidelines to achieve company and project objectives.
• Prepare project planning documents including burn down charts, velocity reports, charter, schedule, and testing plans.
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion, including creation of reports and presentations to senior management.
• Provide coordination between multiple technical and business teams including DBAs, Server Administrators, Architects, Infrastructure Analysts, Developers, Operations Analysts, Project Managers and business contacts.
• Translate technical details for people with varied levels of knowledge.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, manage issues and devise mitigation and contingency plans.
• Define process success criteria with Product Manager.
• Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members.
• May manage relationships with external suppliers at a project or program level.
   

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (May Have Some Wiggle Room)

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer information systems or related area.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification
• 5+ years’ experience working with agile methodologies on large scale, technically complex projects.
• 2+ years’ experience leading projects under Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) patterns and practices.
• Advanced knowledge of JIRA to facilitate scoping, tracking and reporting of team progress.
• Experience developing and delivering processes pertaining to managing information technology projects, compliance reporting, process auditing and reporting capabilities.
• Strong analytical skills and proven ability to transform learning and insight into actionable plans.
• Excellence at organization and coordination with ability to successfully manage multiple, concurrent projects and communications across multiple teams.
• Self-driven leader and proactive team player.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Comfortable working under pressure and in a fast-evolving environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (PLUS ONLY!!)

• SAFe Scrum Master Certification and SAFe coaching experience
• JIRA Administration experience
• Agile Scrum Master, PMP or Six Sigma Certification
• Product Management and/or Product Ownership experience
• Digital Transformation experience
• Freight or freight related industry experience
