PSYCHOSOCIAL REHABILITATION JOB DESCRIPTION

Scope of Service: Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services are Rehabilitative Mental Health (RMH) interventions designed to reduce psychosocial dysfunction (i.e., interpersonal cognitive, behavioral development, etc.) and restore recipients to their highest level of functioning. PSR services target psychological functioning within a variety of social settings. PSR services may include any combination of the following interventions:

  • Behavior management: Recipients learn how to manage their interpersonal, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral responses to various situations. They learn how to positively reflect anger, manage conflicts, and express their frustrations verbally. They learn the dynamic relationship between actions and consequences;
  • Social competency: Recipients learn interpersonal-social boundaries and gain confidence in their interpersonal-social skills;
  • Problem identification and resolution: Recipients learn problem resolution techniques and gain confidence in their problems solving skills;
  • Effective communication: Recipients learn how to genuinely listen to others and make their personal, interpersonal, emotional, and physical needs known;
  • Moral reasoning: Recipients learn culturally relevant moral guidelines and judgment;
  • Identity and emotional intimacy: Recipients learn personal and interpersonal acceptance. They learn healthy (appropriate) strategies to become emotionally and interpersonally intimate with others
  • Self-sufficiency: Recipients learn to build self-trust, self-confidence, and/or self-reliance;
  • Life goals: Recipients learn how to set and achieve observable specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-limited life goals; and/or
  • Sense of humor: Recipients develop humorous perspectives regarding lifes challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess own personal reliable transportation with current registration, and valid Nevada State drivers license
  • Must provide proof of liability car insurance with at least the minimum coverage required by the state of Nevada
  • Must maintain Washoe County Clearance and submit the application packet within one week of accepting the position.
  • Obtain or maintain licensure and/or certification in good standing at all times
  • Must pass a background/FBI check
  • B.A. in Psychology or related field
  • At least 1 year experience in field

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure clients safety at all times.
  • Notify Clinical Supervisor of any concerns regarding the Clients wellbeing.
  • Interface with agency QMHP regarding treatment plans, timelines, and updates.
  • Perform duties in a professional and ethical manner
  • Must work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize, sort and organize; able to multi-task.
  • Demonstrate strong written, verbal and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to independently make decisions demonstrating sound judgment.
  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to assume additional tasks.
  • Meet with clients as required to ensure their needs are met.
  • Review, implement, and follow treatment plans at all times, operate session based on Together Facing The Challenge Model.
  • Responsible for developing and facilitating activities when appropriate and as needed.
  • Maintain daily service logs and complete progress notes daily.
  • Submit payroll and billing information timely and accurately.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings/training sessions
  • Provide other duties as required by the Director or Supervisor

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Working conditions are varied with client visits most often scheduled in the client s home and/or community
  • Must possess own personal reliable transportation with current registration and valid Nevada drivers license
  • Must provide proof of liability car insurance with at least the minimum coverage required by the state of Nevada
  • Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and lift up to 25lbs.
  • Moderate walking, standing and sitting are required.

COMPENSATION:

Initial rate is factored on education and experience of Individual seeking the position based on agency rubric of qualifications and criteria.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $16.00 to $18.00 /hour
