Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Establish program to ensure the accuracy and precision of all measuring, testing, and analytical equipment and procedures.
  • Provide monthly reports on key Quality and Customer metrics.
  • Confer with customers and suppliers regarding product quality problems, conduct analyses, interpret test results, develop nonstandard tests, and consult with outside laboratories for testing.
  • Helps to ensure that accurate supplier rejection information is communicated to the supplier through management approved processes.
  • Assists with supplier audit program for Bossard North America with support from the Quality Manager incorporating the Bossard proprietary auditing criteria and techniques.
  • Assists with the development of training material and conducts training sessions on Quality concepts
  • Developing and implementing supplier improvement programs for new and current Bossard suppliers.
  • Provides the support required to successfully evaluate and resolve issues and bring to closure any supplier quality issues based on supplier non-conformances.
  • Develop new and current suppliers to meet needs and quality capabilities of Bossard customers.
  • Facilitate the follow thru of suppliers corrective actions indicated by BNA approved auditor.
  • Participates in evaluation and approval of new suppliers
  • Integrate and collaborate collectively with other global Bossard unit resources to increase efficiencies.
  • Special Projects and other duties may be assigned.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Engineering, Quality, or another technical area, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 1 year Quality Analyst or equivalent experience required. Preferred 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment required (minimum 3 years preferred). Strong understanding of quality tools such as PPAPs, FMEAs, Control Plans, process capability, Pareto analysis, measurement and testing, and statistical process control strongly preferred. Knowledge of fasteners preferred. Ability to obtain American Society for Quality Certified Quality Auditor (ASQ CQA) certification preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, blue prints, geometric and standard tolerancing, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to understand basic descriptive statistics such as mean, standard deviation, percentile, and median. Ability to perform Pareto and similar analyses.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram from. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized and non-standard situations.

Computer/System Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of

    • UltiPro (HRIS)
    • Bad Inventory Report (BIR)
    • QLR tool used to get various reports
  • Qualiware home to internal processes
  • Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • Outlook/email basic functions, meeting management, and contact management

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • None required.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to thoroughly understand key fastener manufacturing, heat treatment, and finishing operations.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand ISO, ANSI, SAE, ASTM and similar industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret fastener and related component drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Requires knowledge of current quality concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Experience in hands-on metrology and statistical data management.
  • Experience with aspects of gage measurement and accuracy.
