Job Description Summary: Community Health Center, Inc. We deliver more than 500,000 patient visits per year from primary care hubs and community clinics across the state of CT, all connected by technology and common standards for quality. We employ several hundred medical, dental, and behavioral health providers who are engaged in practice, teaching, and research. Our Weitzman Institute is devoted to research and practice transformation and is recognized around the country as one of the premier research institutes focused on improving health care and health outcomes for special and vulnerable populations. In addition, the organization has developed three wholly owned subsidiaries from the original pilot developments within the Weitzman Institute: the National Nurse Practitioner Residency and Fellowship Training Consortium (NNPRFTC), the National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement (NIMAA), and the Community eConsult Network (CeCN). Job Description: JOB SUMMARY The Research Assistant I is assigned to carry out specific research related to a specific project. The position will be responsible for a range of tasks, depending on the nature of the project, including recruiting participants, arranging focus groups, administering surveys, tallying results, tracking grant progress, data collection, literature reviews, obtaining informed consent, IRB applications and updates, basic data analysis, coordination and other tasks as assigned. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Works under general supervision of Director of Research and Evaluation, WQI Collects data Performs basic data analysis Interviews potential research subjects Writes technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations. Obtains informed consent Administers surveys Utilizes established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and analyze data Organizes team meetings and focus groups Performs library/online research/pubmed searches Assists with grant report writing and organization of grant submissions Completes electronic health record chart audits/data collection Develops Power Point presentations Assists in developing grant reports Manages databases to ensure integrity of data and compliance with research protocols Programs and runs Microsoft Access reports PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to independently travel to evens throughout the region independently. Must be able to communicate verbally Must be able to fit for extended periods while working at a computer WORK SCHEDULE DEMANDS Full-time, with occasional mornings, evenings and weekends as needed. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Confidentiality of business information is a requirement. Confidentiality must be maintained according to CHC policies. Excellent oral and written skills are required.
