Duties & ResponsibilitiesHarvard Business School seeks a Research Associate (RA) to support a faculty member in the Technology and Operations Management (TOM) unit with research focusing on the emerging field of Business Analytics and Data Science. Research will be conducted on large, internal data sets requiring proficiency with database management, R, SQL, and Python. The RA will also assist with the creation of some teaching materials for an MBA course on analytics. Including revising and writing traditional cases, along with the datasets and analyses of datasets that accompany the cases. The Research Associate position reports directly to faculty supervisors and administrative manager in the Research Staff Services office.
Advanced degree required with 2 years of experience or bachelors degree with significant relevant work experience (4 years of experience). Working knowledge of R, Python, and/or SQL is required.
Additional QualificationsDegree in Business, Social Sciences, Political Science, Economics, Computer Science or similar with a background in statistical/mathematical methods preferred.

This a full-time (or potentially half-time) term appointment starting this summer (start date flexible) through June 30, 2020 with potential for reappointment. All Research Associate roles at Harvard Business School are structured as term appointments. Half-time positions are benefits-eligible and can be paired to create a full-time position.
