This position will primarily serve as the Open Records coordinator for the Dallas District. In this position, the selectee will be required to manage open records requests by understanding the legislative statute, training others on its requirements, coordinating with NTT Data and others on gathering electronic data, insuring that requesters acknowledge and pay the required costs before the information is gathered and a host of other duties. TxDOT is a great organization with over 12,000 employees serving Texas as we design, construct, maintain, and operate the Transportation System. The Dallas District has over 800 employees engaged in these efforts.

Salary Plan/Grade: B 21, $48,278.00 - $78,953.00

Overnight Travel: Up to 25%

General Description

Monitors budget activities and assists with budget preparation for the open records element of district operations; resource data management; and performs budget/resource forecasting and reporting. Analyzes open records requests, expenditures, revenues, economic trends, and process effectiveness to develop and run scenarios for completing open records requests. Work requires contact with other governmental officials. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.


The essential duties for this job include:

  • Analyzes data and applies statistical techniques.
  • Answers inquiries on resource related matters.
  • Trains others.
  • Performs advanced and complex budget tasks.
  • Prepares written correspondence and budget or resource management related ad hoc reports.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations on monthly Executive Summary and monthly and ad hoc reports for administrative planning purposes. Drives to attend meetings, trainings, and presentations as required.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations on resource management.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

  • Bachelor s Degree
  • Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis.

Work Experience

This job requires the following:

  • 5 years in Budget analysis and forecasting and related activities
  • (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid Driver s License
