Revenue Cycle Liaison

The US Oncology Network – Norfolk, VA

The Mid Atlantic Regional Business office supporting The US Oncology Network, located in Norfolk, VA is looking for an Experienced Revenue Cycle Manager to focus specifically on Revenue Cycle Practice Liaison Operations. This Liaison will be based at the Regional Business Office and will coordinate activities with the RBO Liaisons located at the Practice sites. The applicant must have revenue cycle management experience in identifying opportunities for improvement and coordinating remote process improvements relating to front end practice operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides guidance and leadership to front end staff who are responsible for the day to day office operations that relate to revenue cycle management which include but are not limited to the collection of patient demographics, insurance coverage information, authorizations and referrals, patient financial counseling, etc.
  • Responsible for root cause analysis of front end denial issues, developing denial prevention strategies and collaboratively implementing solutions to prevent denials across practice sites.
  • Is focused on and accountable for maximizing insurance reimbursement and patient share payments.
  • Responsible for quality work, meeting deadlines, and adherence to the Practice’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Responsible for providing and/or coordination of training Best Demonstrated Practices across the Practice’s “Front End” operations
  • Regularly audits staff’s work to ensure compliance, accuracy and system utilization
  • Acts as a catalyst of change and stimulates others to change
  • Takes ownership and accountability and is willing to address difficult issues
  • Works with the practice Executive Director, Finance, and the RBO Director/Managers of Revenue Cycle to ensure that all corporate and practice initiatives are completed.
  • Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program to include Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology’s Shared Values
  • Alerts practices to any changing services, payor changes, etc.
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Limited overnight travel required; ability to independently travel as needed, without restriction, by all modes of transportation, including car, plane or train.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business or equivalent
  • At least eight (8) years of healthcare revenue cycle experience required with a consistent track record of achieving metrics and driving change.
  • Individual must have a strong knowledge of medical insurance billing and collections with CPT/HCPC, ICD-10, and medical terminology, as well as an overall understanding of managed care products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Project management experience, preferred.
  • Experience with Centricity Business and Informatics, preferred

    WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
