OverviewThe Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children s. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.
This position supervises the day-to-day CDM and Charge Capture related activities including, but not limited to analyzing and reviewing the CDM/Charge capture process. This role will supervise the Revenue Integrity Analysts and Business Analyst within the department. The Revenue Integrity Analyst is responsible for maintaining, coordinating, and implementing Charge Description Master (CDM ) initiatives and processes. Ensuring the overall integrity of the CDM with a focus on accuracy, revenue cycle integrity, and compliance with third-party payor requirements. This scope includes responsibility for reviewing, analyzing, and trending information being reported to identify the root-cause of issues and facilitate operational changes to improve net revenue and reductions in denials.Responsibilities

  • Supervise, monitor and track teams productivity, work plan adherence and quality results.
  • Responsible for the on-boarding and training new staff.
  • Serve as first point of escalation for staff on procedural and technical issues; and coach staff regarding how to effectively resolve the issue(s).
  • Monitors and investigates trends, identifies root problems and complex billing and reimbursement issues and collaboratively works with team/individuals to resolve issues.
  • Develop and monitor metrics to ensure functions of the revenue integrity team are performed efficiently as well as with a high degree of accuracy and customer service.
  • Provides guidance on priorities for the department. Ensures work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assists in reviewing and creating standard operating procedures (Team Manual) and forms when needed.
  • Assists with implementation and maintenance of Charge Reconciliation, CDM Management and Charge Capture policies, procedures and training materials.
  • Resolve accounts in assigned Charge Router, Charge Review. Claim Edit, and Follow-Up WQs Monitor & manage from key performance indicators.
  • Serve as EPIC System knowledge source for interface charges.
  • Facilitate the dissemination of information regarding government and third-party payor regulations and requirements to clinical departments, coding, billing, revenue cycle management and staff, as applicable.
  • Leads staff meeting and daily huddles as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications
    Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years CDM, health-care finance, or Revenue Cycle experience
  • Minimum of one year supervisory or management experience in a health-care setting.
  • Working knowledge of CPT, ICD10, HCPC codes
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills
  • Ability to provide constructive and effective feedback to others.
  • Ability to interpret complex data
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and analytic skills to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Ability to provide constructive and effective feedback on performance to staff.
  • Demonstrates the ability to conduct discussions of a sensitive nature with staff.
  • Knowledge of CMS and Commercial policies and requirements
  • Knowledge of Ambulatory Payment Classifications
  • Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone and in writing in a clear, concise and professional manner

  • Preferred:
  • Epic HB experience
  • Certified RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC or COC
