    Duties Summary

    You will serve as a Security Assistant at the GG-08 grade level providing security related support services to the Cryptologic Warfare Group SIX, Special Security Office (SSO).

    Responsibilities
    • You will schedule polygraph appointments with the Naval Criminal Investigation Services (NCIS).
    • You will process initial Special Security Background Investigations (SSBI) and periodic re investigations.
    • You will assist in processing personnel clearance eligibility updates/certifications utilizing the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS).

    • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
    • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
    • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
    • Counterintelligence (CI) Scope polygraph examination required .
    • Must obtain Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) and Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within two years of employment.
    Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS/GG-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as:
    • Processing personnel security clearance certifications using Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) or similar systems.
    • Preparing incident reports, to include, personal conduct, drugs or alcohol abuse, foreign contact, tax evasion, and financial problems.
    • Utilize automated systems to prepare messages for personnel security related subjects.
