Loyalty is responsible for the strategic planning, development and execution of our MileagePlus programs and the associated partnership development and marketing

Job overview and responsibilities


  • This position is responsible for developing and delivering marketing programs and promotions which drive MileagePlus and Co-brand Card revenue and profitability. Responsibilities include customer acquisition, growth, and retention marketing programs. The positions main focus will be supporting Co-brand initiatives while may include but are not limited to driving customer acquisition across multiple channels, assessing the current competitive environment, working on retention and engagement promotions, and supporting ongoing portfolio enhancement strategy. Collaborate with Co-brand Card partners as well as internal MileagePlus and United partners (MP Partner Marketing, operations, customer contact centers, UA Ecommerce, UA Marketing), as appropriate, to deliver programs, promotions, and communications

  • Develop and execute marketing programs to support partner acquisition, usage, and retention programs through airline marketing channels (in airport and onboard)

  • Partner with internal analytical resources to project return from marketing program investments

  • Support cross-functional projects and meetings to garner project support and set project goals, monitor progress against tasks, identify project risks and provide regular updates for senior management.

  • Support procurement and distribution of marketing collateral, using various airline metrics and ongoing inventory management analysis

  • Secure legal and brand approval for all partner marketing campaigns in both internal and external (partner) channels.

  • Responsible for managing both contractual commitments and Partners expectations of marketing programs, delivery, and results

  • Work with manager and Partner to effectively resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise between the Partner and MP/UA

  • Effectively and appropriately communicate results and campaign performance to the partner on a frequent and consistent basis

  • Source marketing promotional items and track spend and program effectiveness

  • Assessing the current competitive environment, and making recommendations on our offer strategy


Required
  • Highly organized, and the ability to multi-task competing priorities

  • Strong analytic & project management skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Ability to collaborate and gain alignment cross-functionally.

  • Ability to manage conflicts

  • Partner marketing experience

  • Experience working with marketing agencies


  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project skills


  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications or related

  • 2+ years of marketing experience

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

    Preferred

  • Experience working with Email Service Providers (ESP)

  • Marketing agency experience

  • Experience working in large corporate environments

  • Financial services, payment, or co-brand card experience

  • 2+ years of airline or travel industry experience

  • 2+ years of partner marketing experience
