Senior Retail Sales Specialist

The Boeing Stores, a fully-integrated multimillion-dollar subsidiary of The Boeing Company, is charged with extending and protecting Boeings brand through the development, marketing, and selling of high quality Boeing-branded merchandise through multiple sales channels; these channels include our physical retail stores, mobile pop-up shops, boeingstore.com, wholesale, and internal Boeing sales. Boeing Stores also manages consumer product & image licensing for the larger Boeing enterprise. We are fully self-funded and accountable to a P&L from end-to-end (planning/budgeting final financial results).
The Boeing Stores retail store team supports internal and external sales of Boeing-branded merchandise, and other aviation-related products, in physical retail store locations across the nation. Our team is seeking an energized, passionate, creative, and customer-obsessed retail store manager to increase sales in our public facing Chicago store. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily store operations, executing visual merchandising displays & marketing elements, and meeting or exceeding sales goals, all while delivering exceptional customer service.


Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Partner closely with retail manager and marketing team, to build and execute against strategic actions plans to meet or exceed sales goals
  • Build partnerships with key stakeholders on-site and within the community to build awareness of and drive traffic to the store
  • Analyze and review sales and inventory reports, daily, to react quickly to business demands
  • Oversee a single retail store sales operations, including sales, customer purchases, and returns
  • Build store sales team capabilities through regular training and mentoring. Inform and align sales associates on priorities daily, to create a strong, dynamic team
  • Receive and process all incoming merchandise freight. Work with allocations and buying teams on stock levels and product mix
  • Execute exciting and on-brand merchandising displays. Ensure store is stocked adequately for volume
  • Manage all controllable costs to improve store profitability
  • Complete all daily cash control requirements, including bank deposits, funds verifications, and cash reconciliations. Meet all submittal deadlines for financial reporting
  • Coordinate all store maintenance activities with internal facilities, and maintain a safe store environment

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Required Qualifications:

  • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
  • 2+ years experience in retail sales
  • Ability to safely lift boxes up to 30 lbs
  • High school diploma or higher

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years formal or informal leadership experience
  • 2+ years experience in a retail store management or supervisory role
  • Experience with Visual merchandising (both hard and soft goods)
  • Point of Sale experience
  • Counter Point experience
  • Bachelor s Degree
  • Proficient with Excel, Word and Power Point

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 7 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+5 years related work, Bachelor+2 years related work, etc.).
