Software Development Engineer

Job Description :

The Software Development Engineer (Advanced) will work as part of an established team responsible for maintaining a large and complex web application and carry lessons learned forward into new product starts.

Responsibilities:

• Will work within the Internet Service Provider industry to architect web applications and deliver SaaS solutions to market.
• Will work on products that provide Internet Service Providers and their millions of subscribers an easy to use web-based system for configuring and troubleshooting home networks.
• Will work on issues related to scalability, stability, and complex deployment problems.
• Will lead contributions to our product's codebase, development process, and employ an ability to satisfy customers.
• Will autonomously architect, design, implement, and deploy new features - within existing ("legacy") and future codebases.
• Will make improvement recommendations for products of all ages.
• Will engage directly with our customers' senior technical staff to understand their requirements and translate these into engineering tasks.
• Will work autonomously to conduct root cause analyses (RCAs), identify the best solutions, and resolve issues in both a time-critical environment while maintaining responsible engineering practices.
• Will effectively collaborate with operations engineers to understand the requirements and impact of software engineering decisions on deployment effort and runtime performance.
• Will create high-quality and maintainable code using Agile and Lean best practices.
• Will invent compelling solutions to difficult use cases that will appeal to non-technical end-users.
• Will communicate effectively with non-technical personnel and be able to communicate solutions effectively in a non-technical manner within the Company and with clients.
• Will perform related responsibilities as needed and required.

Requirements :

• Bachelor's Degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field
• Requires 7 years of work experience as a Software Developer with lead responsibilities to include 3 years within the Internet Service Provider industry.
• Requires 5 years of development work using Scala, Akka, and delivering SaaS applications using the Amazon Web Services platform.
• Requires 3 years of experience with CWMP network configuration protocol.
• Requires 3 years of experience with Oracle MySQL and RADIUS or LDAP.
• Requires 2 years of experience with Felix / OSGi, ActiveMQ, Underscore, JQuery, and Solr / Lucene.
• Requires 2 years of experience working with Secure Software Development processes, including designing and deploying Internet-accessible application servers.
• Requires 1 year of experience with Cassandra.
• Requires effective communication with non-technical personnel.
• Requires travel up to 10%, U.S. & International.
• Telecommuting option up to 3 days/week.
• Experience may be gained concurrently.
