Software Engineer Intern

Hi There,

We at Local Grown Salads have been working with OPT Students for several years with several hundred students working with us. Generally we have around 75 students at any one time.
We understand the practicum is to help you receive Work experience that can help find you a position. We fully support this.

• Once you have started with us, we encourage you to immediately add to your LinkedIn profile that you worked as a Consultant to Local Grown Salads.
• You are encouraged to connect to all the other folks who have worked for Local Grown Salads and then start accepting invitations from others as well. This will create you a network of folks. This network is popular with recruiters.
• By the way, we lose interns to jobs. Usually in less than 8 weeks.
• They tell us, the people interviewing them ask a lot of questions about their Local Grown Salads experience.
• It seems our process is preparing students to get real jobs. We can't guarantee you a job, but we are committed to your success.

A reminder about the requirements

• We expect you to treat this as a regular job. We have lots of students who want positions, please respect the opportunity. We do fire interns, we do not have the patience for interns who do not treat this like a job.
• We expect you to put in 20 hours a week, usually everyday for 4 hours.
• We expect you to commit for 8 weeks or until you find a full time position.
• You can stay beyond the 8 weeks, we extend it by 4 weeks at a time.

We are also aware you are looking for a job at the same time.

• If you find a position during the 8 weeks, we encourage you to accept the position.
• We do ask for 2 weeks notice and that you complete a handoff process. It can be shorter if the job requests it.
• The hand over process should take no longer than 1 hour write up and 1 hour to present.
