Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline or relevant business area. 5 + years of experience in Database Administration. 2-3 years Cloud experience. Experience with Standalone and Clustered SQL Servers. Knowledge of completing Database and Instance STIG checklists on newly installed/upgraded SQL Server Instances and plans and mitigates findings. Experience with developing/Maintaining SSIS packages to perform SQL Server Monitoring Tasks. Experience of developing/Maintaining Maintenance Plans. Capable of monitoring SQL Server Alerts and developing plans to resolve the alerts that include drive space issues. Knowledge of Shrinking Database and Log Files. Experience with Upgrading standalone and Clustered SQL Server Instances. Experience with supporting DEV, TEST and PROD SQL Servers and the promotion of code from DEV to TEST to PROD. Excellent proven Communication skills with SQL Server DBA team amongst others to include: customers, Oracle DBA’s, and Windows Administration personnel. Qualifications Desired: Experience working on DoD programs is highly desired. Experience with life-cycle support for database environment. Experience in producing database documentation that meets DoD requirements. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Provides all activities related to the administration of computerized databases. Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function. Designs, creates and maintains the database tier in an n-tier web based architecture, SOA database components, etc. Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Advises users on access to various client/server databases. Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies and front-end/back-end programming languages. Performs database programming and supports systems design. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design. Manage and resolve SQL Server Job Alerts including but not limited to Backups, Application Jobs, Login Failure alerts. Work SQL Server permission requests and resolve connection issues using SQL Server traces, Windows Directory Administration and SQL Server logs. Install SQL Server patches to bring SQL Server into IA compliance. Install SQL Server on a standalone or clustered instance and configures the static port on clustered instances. Update SQL Server Job tasks by updating SQL Server Configuration. Restore databases including point in time recovery Update SQL Server Documentation when needed Install, migrate, and maintain Report Server Install Oracle Client on both Standalone and Clustered SQL Servers Maintain TNSNAMES across all environments, i.e., DEV, TEST and PROD Monitor and tune the database environment on a regular basis to identify bottlenecks, capacity issues, operating systems and database software-configurations uses and remedy them. Configuration of database environment as defined by DoD security requirements and policies.
