Job DescriptionPosition Objective:The SQL Server Developer will have the primary responsibility of partnering with the firms technical team leads to develop a database archive strategy and practice for the firms claims processing solution. This role will also be responsible for performance tuning their SQL Server RDMS environment, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of their corporate applications. This is a "hands-on" position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The person selected for this role must be capable of working independently and collaboratively. Position Responsibilities:

  • 90% SQL Server Development work / 10% DBA work Development work will include Stored Procedures Experience, SQL Server Statements and Creating Queries.
  • Working within Virtualized Environments.
  • Any experience with Foglight or any additional monitoring tools experience.
  • They are running on their systems SQL Server 2008 and 2016 and if the ideal candidate has any migration experience it is a plus only and not a requirement.
  • About three to four times a year the ideal candidate will be traveling to Holmdel, New Jersey to attend training as well as collaborative meetings with additional SQL Developers and DBA's. (Paid for by the firm.)
  • Any experience with SSIS, SSRS as well as Reporting tools experience.
  • Understanding how database environments work.
  • Partner with a third-party proprietary product vendor to develop/refine a SQL Server archive strategy inclusive of solutions architecture, analysis, design, testing and implementation.
  • Provide senior level experience developing strategies for DB performance improvement using monitoring and troubleshooting tools to resolve bottlenecks, dead locks and slow running queries.
  • Partner with our DB Administration and Enterprise Operations to analyze, solve, correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members as needed.
  • Contribute expertise to developing a load testing environment and benchmarking database performance Develop a model for database backups, restores, and recovery
  • He / She will need strong knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics applied to state database performance.
  • Create technical design specifications and assist in sizing technical requirements, as needed.
  • Adhere to IT governance standards and procedures; check for compliance

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of commercial and government medical claims processing
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and Medicaid and Medicare programs
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple deliverables simultaneously
  • Adapts to changing business priorities and environments

Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Database Administration, Database Development, Systems Analysis, Development and Support of MS SQL Server
  • 2016/2008 R2/2008 in Production, Test, Replication environments
  • Bachelor's Degree with a major in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field required, or in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree an additional 5 years of development/support experience required in addition to the experience requirement listed below:
  • Experience with reporting and audit tools: SSRS/SSIS, Report Builder and SSDT
  • Experience working with a healthcare payor or in the healthcare industry preferred.
  • Proven experience from multiple engagements archiving and purging database records in an enterprise environment
  • Proven experience from multiple engagements performing SQL Server database upgrades/migrations
  • Experience on High Availability solutions, Failover Clusters and Always On Availability Groups, Replication, Log Shipping and Mirroring
  • Experienced in monitoring the health and performance of SQL Servers as well as home grown applications using SQL Server native tools and other third-party solutions
  • Proven experience with maintenance plans, compression, partitioning, replications and other admin responsibilities.
  • Able to benchmark and load test new instance builds for performance with DB load simulators
  • Expert in problem solving, analysis and using SQL Server diagnostic tools to ensure stead state performance
  • Experience working with Windows Server, including Active Directory
  • Experience in creating technical documentation inclusive of solution architecture artifacts ERD artifacts
  • Ability to organize and plan work independently
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams
  • MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications are a plus only and are not required
