After completing her MBA at The University of Texas at Austin, Alissa decided to forgo a traditional post-MBA job and instead launched milk + honey spa. Not only did she see an opportunity in Austin for a luxury day spa, but it was important to her to build something that made and continues to make others feel great. In January 2006, she launched milk + honey, and today, it encompasses a thriving collection of six spas in Austin, Houston and Fort Worth. In 2014, she launched milk + honeys line of hyperclean, organic, and effective bath and bodycare products with skincare debuting in 2019.

milk + honey is looking for a Staff Accountant whose responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting the organizational and financial needs of all milk + honey locations + Inc level operational functions. The Staff Accountant reports into the Controller. The successful Staff Accountant will be a self starter with exceptional multitasking skills, be willing to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include:
*Manage Accounts Payable, code bills and ensure payments are processed in a timely manner
*Journalize daily cash entries for 9+ bank accounts
*Enter sales, expenses and journal entries
*Book month end journal entries such as prepaids, reclasses, and accruals
*Manage Expensify, companys credit card expense management system, create reports and code expenses on a weekly basis
*Respond to and work credit card chargebacks
*Process annual 1099s
*Maintain an organized filing system for all company records
*Assist Controller and accounting team with ad-hoc reporting and projects
Once essential duties and responsibilities are mastered, advanced duties and responsibilities for this position include:
Assist in reviewing and preparing financial statements (P&L and Balance Sheet)
Perform month end balance sheet reconciliations
*1-3 years accounting experience required
*Knowledge of Quickbooks preferred
*Intermediate Excel and Word skills
*Excellent communication skills and ability to work on a dynamic team
*Must be able to sustain reasonable physical activity for the duration of a scheduled shift
*Must be able to hear so as to effectively understand co workers needs
*Must be able to lift up to 25lbs
*Any other reasonable requests to make your department a success
