POSITION: TEACHER AIDE/CHILDCARE ASSISTANT IN THE SUMMERFEST PROGRAM SPECIALIZED SUPPORTQUALIFICATIONS: * Associate s Degree preferred* Experience working with age appropriate students in a school setting* Experience working with students with special needs required* Knowledge of classroom preparation and record keeping requirements* Related school experience desirable* Demonstrated aptitude or competence of assigned responsibilities* Such alternative to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the Director of Community EducationREPORTS TO: Childcare Supervisor and Director of Community EducationJOB GOAL: To assist in the coordination of the Community Education Summerfest Programs to ensure proper instruction and activities for studentsPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform various instructional, clerical and other related duties, under the direction of the teacher, to aid in meeting the objectives of the program, including the following: I. Assist the leaders in providing the daily program plan.2. Designated adult to work assisting a child with physical, developmental or emotional delays.3. Ability to work on the floor, lift over 50lbs and other physical requirements as needed.4.
Under direction of Supervisor and Leaders, collaboratively create plans and activities to help children with behavioral or physical challenges succeed.5. Willingness to be trained, research supportive techniques as needed, and mentor collages in techniques.6. Ability to implement and create activities for small groups.7. Accept and adhere to all guidelines set forth.8.
Report necessary problems and/or information to teacher or supervisor.9. Confer with teachers, team leaders and other appropriate personnel regarding students individualized needs.10. Assist with the supervision of students.11. Assume responsibility for all necessary personal care needs of the children.12.
Perform other related duties as directed or as responsibilities necessitate.13.
