Supervisory experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality or similar industries is required for this position. Must have customer service, production/inventory, and staff management experience.

OBJECTIVE:
The Retail Department Supervisor will manage the Retail Associates as well as the Retail production and sales floor areas. The Retail Department Supervisor will be responsible for meeting budget and goals for production and sales, as well as ensure that the department is running at optimal efficiency. This is a first-level management position that requires a hands-on approach and an Attitude of Gratitude to support the mission of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage Department to include staff, production, product flow and product merchandising on the sales floor.
  • Ensure adequate staffing based on allowed payroll hours by initiating the hiring process, interviewing/selecting candidates and making offers.
  • Manage Associates by providing training, direction, conducting performance reviews, discipline and termination as required.
  • Manage payroll and staffing hours/schedules for all associates.
  • Ensure shift supervisors and associates are held accountable for their performance and sales/production goals.
  • Model and maintain the highest level of customer service ensuring that our customers feel appreciated and respected.
  • Manage product levels for production, manage and forecast inventory needs on a daily and weekly basis and ordering additional product and supplies as necessary.
  • Track and report daily/weekly on sales and production goals to ensure Retail Center goals are within targeted range.
  • Maintain and implement Goodwill safety standards within department as well as recognize and report deficiencies in all areas.
  • Maintain relationships with other department supervisors, center managers, customers and staff.
  • Manage retail center operations in the absence of the store manager to include: opening/closing the Retail Center, assisting customers, overseeing associates, and being able to make final decisions to ensure the continued operations of the Retail Center.
  • Help provide and maintain a safe working environment for you, customers and fellow employees.
  • Cross-train in other departments/areas and act as back-up for other areas as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A pre-employment drug screen is required for this position.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of supervisor/management experience to include: managing staff, scheduling, goal setting, task delegation and decision making.
  • One year experience with retail, merchandising, hardline/softline products highly desired.
  • Experience in creating displays, merchandising product, customer service and sales floor design.
  • Experience with budgets, forecasting, meeting goals and managing staff.
  • Ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and electronically with customers, managers, supervisors, staff and peers.
  • Able to problem solve and make decisions.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and follow Goodwills policies and procedures.
  • Able to be detail oriented and very organized.
  • Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending, lifting up to 8 hours per day.
  • Able to work a varied schedule to include days, weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
