Supply Chain Data Analyst

As part of the Materials Management team, the Supply Chain Data Analyst is responsible for maintaining the integrity of inventory item and other master data within company systems, creating various reports and metrics, and performing detailed analytics to strengthen functional decision-making. This position will support and contribute to the optimization of MSDs purchasing processes and systems and help achieve target inventory and customer service levels at 8 regional distribution centers. The successful candidate will be highly analytical, cross-functionally minded, and have the ability to absorb a large amount of data and manage multiple projects at once.

Job Summary:

As part of the Materials Management team, the Supply Chain Data Analyst is responsible for maintaining the integrity of inventory item and other master data within company systems, creating various reports and metrics, and performing detailed analytics to strengthen functional decision-making. This position will support and contribute to the optimization of MSDs purchasing processes and systems and help achieve target inventory and customer service levels at 8 regional distribution centers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) on all information systems used by Materials Management, including the Prophet 21 (P21) ERP system, Crystal reporting, WebQuery, Salesforce, and others.
  • Create all new inventory items within P21, ensuring consistency and accuracy of settings.
  • Analyze, control, and maintain all P21 item master data impacting inventory planning, such as safety stock levels, ABC class, unit of measure, stock status, weight, etc. via uploads and manual data entry.
  • Support the inventory allocation process during prolonged and critical inventory shortages, by calculating, uploading, and managing customer allocation limits as applicable.
  • Perform detailed supply / demand / inventory profile and KPI analyses at e.g. the customer, item, product family, business unit, or distribution center level.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis or data mining exercises to support various needs within the department.
  • Provide support and training to Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, Accounting, etc. related to supply chain systems, processes, and data.
  • Maintain a comprehensive set of monthly supply chain metrics (e.g. inventory turns, E&O, forecast accuracy, etc.), and develop new metrics reports as needed.
  • Provide back-up as needed on various Purchasing-related activities, such as forecast data entry, drop-ship purchase orders, Salesforce case management, and others.

Competencies:

  • Detail-oriented and organized; able to digest large amounts of information and manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to not only compile complex data but to interpret it, translate data into management information, and develop recommendations for action when needed.
  • Familiarity with replenishment planning and purchasing methods and measurements such as safety stock, reorder points, Min/Max, inventory turns, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to interact with employees at all levels in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-directed and comfortable working both as an individual contributor and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associates degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Operations, Finance, or other related field is preferred; Bachelors degree preferred OR equivalent experience.
  • Min. of 3 years experience working directly within a supply chain field such as planning, purchasing, inventory management, distribution, etc.
  • Demonstrated analytical capability and/or previous experience in an analytical role, preferably in a healthcare and/or medical products environment.
  • CPIM, CSCP, CPP, or other supply chain certification is a plus.

Computer Skills & Abilities:

  • Prior experience with using advanced ERP software is required.
  • Specific experience with Epicor Prophet 21, and/or Crystal reporting is a strong plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel is essential (e.g. pivot tables, macros, etc.)
  • Experience with all other Microsoft Office products (Power Point, Word, and Outlook).
