Supply Chain Projects Manager

McLane Company – Carrollton, TX

This position is responsible for developing, analyzing and integrating supply chain information for new customer introductions, DC moves or consolidations and system transitions. This includes item/vendor setups, forecasting, inventory transitions and purchase orders. Position also responsible for managing national beverage programs including resolution of service issues. The person in this position will assist with supporting supply-chain related customer requests for information feeds or data and will work with IT to improve supply-chain applications, resolve issues and support projects, as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Other duties may be assigned. A teammate in this position must have the ability to:

  • Fully understand setup requirements for items, vendors and purchase order/freight parameters within the supply chain systems used to plan and manage inventory. Provide direction and oversee the load and use of this information during new customer introductions, DC moves or consolidations and system transitions.
  • Function as a key player in the new system/new application design and data integration and implementation. Define requirements, identify enhancements, work with system developers, third-party providers and customers to resolve challenges, document expectations and perform system testing. Communicate with users. Manage implementation. Provide and/or develop needed user training.
  • Work directly with other functional groups, internal and external customers, vendors and/or previous distributors to define, communicate and obtain information necessary to plan and manage inventory. Review and analyze information for accuracy and reasonableness. Ensure consistency in process design and implementation.
  • Organize and analyze data from internal systems and/or trading partners to provide sales, forecast, inventory and purchase order information to support customer transitions and DC moves or consolidations. Manage initial inventory load and ensure timely and successful hand-off to planning teams. Provide ongoing support while understanding of DC and shelf-life constraints.
  • Manage national beverage programs. Work with contacts to resolve supply chain issues. Understand requirements, review/analyze issues with reporting or setup to ensure accuracy. Monitor compliance and collections. Provide direction to planners to take advantage of inventory buy-in opportunities.
  • Develop tools to measure, monitor and report on vendor performance.
  • Identify and manage projects or enhancements to improve supply chain processes and systems.
  • Work with department management to obtain and track historical data and reporting on purchasing, items or vendors.
  • Provide analytics and support for reporting requests from supply chain and other departments.
  • Manage project requests and determine system priorities for the department.
  • **Work with various internal and external teams to develop and improve systems and processes to support the entire customer service life cycle including departmental systems integrations
  • **Provide and support Ad-hoc reporting and projects based on business needs
  • **Work with Information Technology department on system issues and enhancements, business requirements and testing
  • **Data mining and data cleanup projects
  • MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    A teammate in this position must:

  • Bachelors degree in supply chain, business, systems or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years distribution or purchasing analytics and systems experience. Foodservice preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize activities and successfully manage projects from inception through completion.
  • Balanced judgment and ability to multi-task and prioritize when confronted with competing objectives.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to lead and influence others.
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to quickly learn new systems and applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large or complex spreadsheets and Access databases.
  • Experience with an ERP such as SAP, Oracle or J.D. Edwards.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting systems.
  • Experience managing large-scale, complex projects with structured project management approaches

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The work conditions are primarily in an office environment.
