Job Description

Responsible for providing technical support within the team of Systems Administrators. Areas of support includes but are not limited to; VMware, Horizon, Veeam, Windows Servers administration. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems within established standards and guidelines. The System Administrator will work with management in establishing processes, controls, security, and strategy around system support initiatives. Candidate will be responsible to manage and maintain a large VMware installation including LINUX and Windows Servers virtual machines. Responsible for managing Virtual Servers and Storage resources.

**Excellent understanding of VMware 6 and 6.5 in addition to VMware Horizon.

Expectations over and above those of a System Administrator include;

Recommendations in design and new system specification

Responsibility for high complexity enterprise systems

Lead role in a wide area of technical expertise

Mentoring of other technical support staff

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Installs and maintains Hypervisor, operating systems and related software to ensure stable performance.

Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.

Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.

Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations/

Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.

Evaluates system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.

Troubleshoots networking and operating systems problems.

Help develops backup and recover strategy.

Incorporate Information Security Best Practices in all aspects of Systems Management
