Advanced Services Operations Engineer

Duties:

• Client Interface and Processes
• Review current network standards with applicable stakeholders to ensure the standards are impacting the network positively
• Create gap analysis’ based on operational input on current network performance standards
• Review best practice designs with vendors and ensure common practices are being implemented in the Client network
• Review current monitoring and reporting systems and make recommendations to optimize event management and performance management software
• Acts as an internal training resource to tier 2/3 operations engineers
• Provide software analysis for network devices and network security devices to minimize network disruptions due to bugs and security vulnerabilities
• Peer review of changes for DC Exit activities

Expected Skillset:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience with network and security operations and engineering
• Experience with configuration and support of Cisco (IOS, NxOS and ACI), Checkpoint, F5, Juniper and McAfee.
• Ability to lead large initiatives and interface with all levels of an organization.
• Expert level experience troubleshooting TCP/IP at a packet level.
• In-depth and hands on experience in complex LAN/WAN.MAN, DWDM.
• In-depth understanding of operational and troubleshooting knowledge of trunking protocols – VTP-802.1Q etc.
• In-depth working knowledge and troubleshooting of IP routing and network protocols (OSPF, BGP, RIP, spanning tree, multicast etc.).
• In-depth working knowledge of IPT implementation and troubleshooting.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to articulate complex technical issues to leadership teams.
