Business Analyst

Accountabilities:

• Create project requirements through meetings with end users to enhance business processes.
• Evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
• Translate documented project requirements into functional and non-functional specifications for Business Intelligence reports and applications. Translate specifications into new reports or modifications to existing reports. May perform testing/validation.
• Determine testing needed to assure the functionality and integrity of reporting solutions, conduct user acceptance testing and evaluate testing results recommending and/or taking corrective action as necessary
• Able to build SQL queries, test existing queries, assisting technical team when necessary.
• Ensure that the use of business intelligence applications enhances business decision making capabilities
• Analyzes results of analytical testing to ensure the derived solution matches the documented business need.
• Assists in the training of end users and evaluates the effectiveness of implemented technologies.
• Create ad-hoc queries & reports as requested and provide on-going analytical support for these requests
• Able to build required report in requested in method in timely manner

Knowledge

• Tableau skills, able to build a fully functioning report from query to dashboard
• Knowledge of requirements gathering & documentation
• Knowledge in business analytics and the interpretation of the output
• Knowledge in Oracle for reporting purposes
• Microsoft PowerPoint/Office, Microsoft Visio
• Excellent communication, presentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, marketing, or sales.
• Minimum 1-2+ years of business analyst experience
• Experience serving in a Business Analyst role within a retail organization preferred
• Proven experience in working with all phases of the technology project lifecycle
