Data Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Build an understanding of the business at a level that enables them to proactively identify& address issues, identify & recommend data-driven business opportunities.
• Work with internal Microsoft groups to determine data requirements, conduct analysis, and define key performance indicators (KPI).
• Build optimal ETL logic from SQL and Kusto based data sources and prepare final table(s) in Azure SQL.
• Build multi-layered, performant, simplified Power BI reports, and content packs to enable Leadership Team to review & make critical business decisions. 

Required Experience:

• 5-7 years of strong SQL development experience and comfortable designing and developing a robust Extract Transform Load logic
• 3-5 years of strong Power BI hands-on experience (end to end designing & building). The build reports will be used by all levels of the organization including executives. So its critical to decide what to present based on the audience
• Strong expertise in using DAX queries for creating/developing custom metrics & expressions
• Experience working with Kusto explorer & Kusto Query language
• Hands-on experience with SQL Azure and Azure DevOps (VSO)
• Working experience in Scrum-based Agile methodology of building software
• Strong verbal and written communication skill

Desired Experience:

• Prior experience with Microsoft internal systems (Commerce, OCP, MS Sales) and recommendations from previous FTE manager
• Hands-on experience dealing with Dynamics 365 (CRM) data
