Database Administrator

The client of ours in the public sector is seeking a Database Administrator with CPT to help with a large scale database migration task as well as extra task work as necessary. This particular person will be working closely with the majority of the DBA staff, other Technology Services energy as well as likely software vendors. There might be some little growth duties requested of this particular individual, though they're ready to accept a number of various backgrounds.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

• Installs, configures, upgrades and migrates database server software and related products
• Monitors and optimizes the performance of the database including SQL tuning performs storage and capacity planning
• Performs troubleshooting, resolution and root cause analysis for complex database performance and outages, ensures compliance with database vendor license
• Develops policies, procedures, standards and best practices used to govern and direct the technical aspects of database administration in order to ensure security, consistency, and integrity of databases
• May be asked to assist with database development tasks as needed
• Designs and develops data migrations, extract, transform and load functions

Top Skills/Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience working as a Database Administration (SQL Server or Oracle)
• Must have previous experience working on database migration projects
• Background working with installation configuration, design, development, monitoring and backup and recovery with databases
• Previous experience with database development (flexible on languages used) is preferred
• Previous experience with data modelling is preferred• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
