Job Description :Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements, monitors, and recommends changes to IT field network solutions including microwave, fiber, 700MHz, and 900MHz MAS, cellular, circuits, etc.
- Sound knowledge and hands experience on OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, ISIS
- Knowledge of Voice(CISCO Call Manager, Subscriber, Publisher), SIP technology, PCCE, contact center, and collaboration tools.
- Basic understanding of wireless technology.
- knowledge and hands-on Network Tools - Solar Winds, Cisco DNA, Riverbed
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience on fiber optics, fiber testing, ethernet cabling, mux, Dark fiber, CWDM ring
- Strong knowledge of SCADA networks
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience on ADVA.
- Serves as an administrator for the Nokia Network Services Platform (NSP) Network Functions Manager for Packet (NFM-P); develops network performance/SLA reports, tunes alerts, and supports overall changes and upgrades
- Develops and maintains network diagrams, design and as-built documentation, MOPs, procedures, and operational models to ensure system reliability, scalability, and operability
- Works with vendors and service providers based on contract requirements as well as to improve processes and operational issues
- Performs end-to-end analysis on the transport network through a capacity/availability/response time analysis
- Works with vendors to maintain and upgrade network infrastructure (e.g. core switches, routers, WAPs, phones, etc.) at field offices, core locations, substations, etc.
- Adheres to safe work practices to support the goal of no reportable accidents within IT
- Works with a 24x7 operations mindset and the understanding all personnel will be on call in the event of a major network or telecommunications problem
- Follows incident and change management processes when troubleshooting and implementing changes to the network, security, and communications infrastructure
- Performs other duties that may be assigned
- Performs network administration, onboarding, deployment, and patching activities for the Nokia 7750, 7250, 7705 (SAR-8 and SAR-Hc) routers, the 7210 switches and any other Nokia equipment deployed within the client’s network
Experience & Skill Requirements:
- Ability to become NERC CIP certified
- 7 years or more experience in the implementation and administration of complex network/telecommunications systems or related experience
- Experience in IP networks (routing and switching) and communications
- Experience in a 24x7 environment
- General knowledge of telecommunications network design and architecture, various network equipment technologies, network/telecom standards, and regulatory requirements, and general IT knowledge
- Demonstrated understanding of regulatory and market issues surrounding utility systems and applications
- Knowledge, understanding, and experience supporting technology systems including infrastructure systems, SCADA, Call Centers and Internet / Web Self Service systems
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to articulate complex system issues in both public and private forums and work with many stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Demonstrates multi-project tracking skills including requirements gathering, status updates, design development, and adherence to a schedule
- Demonstrates effective analytical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
- Holds has held, or is working towards a minimum CCNP level certification
- Ability to troubleshoot with cross-functional infrastructure and application teams on various issues
- Ability to provide analysis expertise between teams along with packet capture analysis and forensic inspection
- Knowledge of NERC CIP standards, definitions, and applicability to substation BES Cyber Assets
