Front End Developer

Responsiblties:

• Collaborate with the Director of Digital Development and User Experience, and other members of the Digital Team (including students) to build and maintain the content and structure of the institutional website and supporting digital spaces using responsive design and web accessibility standards.
• Generate clear ideas, concepts and designs of creative assets from beginning to end.
• Work closely with the Web Technologies team to build, test and implement new WordPress features.
• Effectively communicate with University Communications and Marketing, as well as stakeholders across the University, to implement requests.
• Adhere to Adelphi University brand standards and convey it cohesively across the website, supporting digital spaces and third-party platforms.
• Research the latest standards, changes, trends in web design and development.
• Manage the Quality Control and Traffic Coordinator position as well as all student positions.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirment:

• Highly skilled with front end technologies, including HTML, CSS and Javascript.
• Solid understanding of Javascript, PHP; experience with other programming languages a plus but not necessary.
• Adept at building easy-to-use and visually appealing interfaces for responsive websites.
• Comfortable turning wireframes and/or high-level descriptions into polished designs.
• Solid understanding of user-experience, visual design, and site and information architecture.
• High level of proficiency using Adobe products  as well as source-code editor applications.
• Knowledge of browser compatibility across multiple platforms and devices.
• Strong ability to design with mobile optimization and accessibility in mind.
• Must be both self-motivated and able to take direction.
• Ability to adhere to established procedures and workflow standards.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with colleagues and clients.
