Full Stack Developer

Job description

We re looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to help us develop analytics products focusing on natural gas and renewable energy industries. As a part of this role, you will get the opportunity to be involved in end-to-end development of software products, designing of user interface thereof with an immersive user experience and more. All our products have a high content of GIS and mapping features. Therefore, it is essential that the individual should have prior experience in developing products with high degree of usage of spatial modeling, remote sensing, and other advanced geospatial and mapping technologies. You will be working as part of our team comprising Geospatial, Renewable and Data Analytics experts.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in internal discussions to understand business requirements and provide technical inputs;

• Create functional specifications, carry out feasibility analysis and provide effort estimation;

• Suggest and develop analytics products to solve real business problems, taking account of user needs, technology at disposal and operational landscape;

• Translate complex datasets into strategic insights for the business and communicates simply to non-technical audiences, visualizing results, to create understanding and solution buy-in;

• Design, develop, test and maintain Software Products;

• Responsible for source control, build, testing, branching, and release needs that need to be part of the Software Development Environment;

• Create and maintain product technical documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degrees in either Computer Science, Information Technology or other related, preferably Engineering streams;

• Required Frontend Skills: Extensive functional knowledge of vanilla Javascript along with HTML and CSS. Proficiency in at least one frontend JS framework, preferably react. Knowledge of Typescript will be a plus;

• Required Backend Skills: Extensive functional knowledge and experience with at least Javascript , Python and/or R. Should have a good grasp over node.js and at least one python framework like flask, with the ability to design, develop and consume RESTful services;

• Required Database Skills: Proficiency in at least one SQL and one NoSQL database system, preferably PostgreSQL and MongoDB/SQLite/CosmoDB respectively. Should be able to effectively design Databases as per requirements and perform queries and analysis on the same. Should be capable of performing basic data analysis like data cleaning/wrangling, custom analytics etc.

• Knowledge of additional frontend frameworks like Gatsby, Angular, Vue etc (for Javascript), Dash, Streamlit, Shiny ( for Python/R ) will be an added plus ( preferably Python/R frameworks );

• Knowledge of additional Backend frameworks like Express.JS, Django will be a plus.

• Knowledge of additional Database frameworks/systems especially cloud based frameworks like Azure Storage/Data Lake/Tables, Firebase etc will be an added plus. Knowledge of Data Analysis frameworks/packages like pandas,numpy,scipy, tidyverse will also be an added plus.

• Experience and familiarity with developing products with high degree of Geospatial content including sound understanding of integrating content developed in GIS applications (such as ArcGIS) into web development;

• Experience with GIS based Web frameworks like ArcGIS Javascript API, Leaflet, Openlayers, Geoserver etc will be an added plus;

• Experience with GIS based Database systems like PostGIS will a big plus;

• Strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards;

• Experience in planning and delivering software products used across multiple products and organizational units and the ability to design, develop and test using standard software development lifecycle principles;
