We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer with expertise in Hadoop, Scala, and SQL to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in big data processing, distributed computing, and backend development using Java technologies. You will work closely with data engineers, analysts, and other developers to design and implement scalable solutions that process large datasets efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance and scalable applications using Java and big data technologies.
Work with Hadoop ecosystem components like HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, and Spark for large-scale data processing.
Develop Scala-based applications to support data transformation and pipeline development.
Optimize and write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
Collaborate with data engineers and business analysts to understand data processing needs and translate them into efficient solutions.
Improve performance of existing big data applications by tuning and optimizing queries and workflows.
Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for deployment and scaling of big data solutions (if applicable).
Follow best practices in coding, testing, and version control to ensure code maintainability and reliability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong programming experience in Java with a deep understanding of OOP principles and multithreading.
Hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, etc.).
Proficiency in Scala for functional programming and big data processing.
Expertise in SQL and query optimization for large datasets.
Experience working with Apache Spark for real-time and batch data processing.
Knowledge of ETL processes and data pipeline development.
Familiarity with cloud services (AWS EMR, Azure HDInsight, GCP DataProc) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Experience with version control tools like Git and CI/CD pipelines is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Kafka or other messaging systems.
Understanding of NoSQL databases (Cassandra, HBase, MongoDB).
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with machine learning or data science tools is a plus.
