Puppet engineer

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong working experience with Linux production systems (RHEL, OEL, Ubuntu)
• Demonstrated proficiency with a scripting/coding language(s) – One of these would be an advantage Perl, Python, Ruby, shell
• Demonstrated proficiency with a configuration management tool a plus - Puppet, Ansible
• Exposure to one or more of monitoring/alerting tools and platforms such as Splunk, SignalFx, TICK, Grafana, Icinga, nagios, logicmonitor etc
• Embrace DevOps and Infra-as-Code culture with the right mindset to automate everything possible
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment technologies such as: Jenkins CI, and Artifactory
• Should have exposure to agile methodology and working in an onshore-offshore model
• High reasoning aptitude and ability to quickly understand a complex operating environments
• Proficient in good documentation practices
• Self-starter that enjoys learning new tools, technologies, and most of all, solving problems
• System level troubleshooting

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Experience in OS hardening and implementing security controls is a great plus
• Well versed in TCP/IP, DNS, LDAPS, and Active Directory, with troubleshooting experience.
• Processor and system architecture (processing cores, dedicated vs. shared cache, system buses, CPU, memory, I/O peripherals, etc.)
• Network architecture and protocols (TCP/IP, Security, HTTP/HTTPS, load-balancing, etc.)
• Security: encryption methodologies, certificate management, etc.
• Experience in HA setup, performance tuning etc.
