POSITION PROFILE: (BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION)
The System Engineer- SAP Developer Masterdata will act as developer for
one of client's application development and support teams. This includes
work on design and development of system components, implementation of
technology standards, hands-on software development and support.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (LIST IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE)
§ Understand the business requirements; design new processes to match
business requirements.
§ Convert business/functional requirements in technical
specifications.
§ Design, configure and develop the object as per the design.
§ Develop or modify interface maps between ERP and middleware system.
§ Create/change new or existing Integration Scenarios and Integration
Processes as per business needs.
§ Test developed objects with test cases and prepare Unit Test Plans.
§ Develop, monitor and support all interfaces with SAP and other core
systems.
§ Provide second line business support for SAP and other core
systems. This will entail working
flexibly as part of a US support team in line with the standard
procedures.
§ Document all system changes in line with the standard procedures.
§ Oversees Unit Testing of software and database objects per
schedule.
§ Oversees and prepare Application's documentation using SDLC
guidelines.
§ Keep up to date with SAP releases and other technology advances so
that the company can
§ make best use of them as required by the business.
§ Input ideas and suggestions, identifying the business areas where
changes to business processes or new technology could benefit the
company.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION/TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS)
§ A four-year college degree in applicable discipline is requried.
* 2 - 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
* SAP Certification and/or course work a plus.
* Familiarity with all of the applications and software languages
supported and especially
proficient in one or more.
* Sound functional and technical knowledge of SAP modules SD and MM.
* Sound knowledge of SAP ECC and ABAP programming (both OO and
classical).
* Excellent debugging skills is mandatory.
* Knowledge of EDI/ALE and sound knowledge of IDocs .
* Sound knowledge of PI/XI is a plus.
* Knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus (functional or technical) .
* Knowledge of SAP CRM WebUI, BOL, Component Workbench, ATL is a plus.
* Knowledge of business/system analysis, development gained during ERP
implementaions .
* Good communication skills are important, since this individual will
document new
methodologies/practices, present them to the team, and ensure their
successful
implementation.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (THOSE NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE JOB
COMPETENTLY)
* Thorough understanding of ABAP Workbench tools such as ABAP
Dictionary, ABAP Editor, Area Menus, SAP Script, Function Builder,
Transactions, and Business Object Builder.
Understanding of data quality issues and ability to recommend best
practices for ensuring/validating data quality. * Strong technical
knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in terms
understandable to the business.
* Experienced in covering requirement analysis, configuration,
technical design and development, Test cases and transport and cutover
activity.
* Good understanding of the integration points across SAP modules.
* Understanding of software development life cycle. Ability to work
effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.

* Strong technical analysis skills for creating optimal solutions for
the business.
* Effective written, oral communications and interpersonal skills.
* Eager to learn and adopt new skills/programming languages.
