Senior Analytical Environmental Chemist

• Analyze Trace level Organics, VOCs, SVOCs, PCBs in water, soil and air matrices
• Run Purge and Trap alongside GC/MS
• Ability to tune, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain GC/MS
• Proficiency in 8260, 8270, 1311, 624, 625 and related EPA methodologies.
• Run Organics in Air canisters via preconcentrator via TO-15 EPA method
• Analyze Metals on ICP-OES via 6010. Perform Microwave acid extraction
• Perform Wet chemistry testing such as CBOD, Ammonia, Oil & Grease, Hardness, Sulfates, Sulfides, Total Cyanide, Salinity, pH
• Perform and track QA/QC on the EPA methods.
• Assist with writing SOPs based on NELAC and related standards
• Must be able to work independently and with a team
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, prioritize assignments, and plan effectively
• Must have good communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient with MS Excel and MS Word

Qualifications:

• B.S. Chemistry,
• At least 4 years experience in an environmental lab.
• Experience with Agilent GC/MS and MSD chemstation preferred.
• Experience with Teledyne Tekmar Purge and Trap
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
