Senior .Net Developer

Job Description :

We have a 24+ Month Contract position with Homesite in Boston, MA. The position is remote now until Covid-19 is over.

We are looking for senior level tenured people with 8-10 years+ of development experience.

 

This person must have .NET/C# but also have some knowledge of Java. They are moving legacy applications over to Java but they need someone who is strong in .NET.

Summary:

• The Senior Software Engineer (Remote) will simultaneously support legacy .NET/C# services while also assisting with the transition to Java-based AWS microservices.
• For this role, the Engineer will need to have experience working with both .NET and Java applications.
• This role has a heavy focus on back end/API development, with minimal exposure to the UI.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop back-end micro-services and REST APIs for web applications using both .NET and Java.
• Support the maintenance and enhancement of legacy .NET APIs.
• Support the "from-scratch” development of Java APIs in an AWS Microservices environment.
• Collaborate with various front-end and back-end development teams on user-facing features and services.
• Work with platform & system architects on software and system optimizations & enhancements, helping to identify and remove potential performance bottlenecks.
• Focus on design patterns, test driven development, enforce code quality and standards, and document APIs.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate problem-solving techniques.
• Advanced knowledge and experience working with .NET, C#, and Java.
• Advanced ability to develop REST Webservices.
• Working knowledge of distributed enterprise architecture.
• Strong understanding of git, bitbucket, Jira, confluence, swagger (API documentation).
• Working knowledge of Relational (MS SQL Server, MySQL, Aurora) and NoSQL database systems (Mongo, Redis, Memcached).
• Working knowledge of Agile / Scrum methodology.
• Learns fast in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with cloud computing APIs (Amazon Web Services preferred).
• Experience with cloud computing services (Amazon Web Services like Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, ECS, and RDS preferred).
