Software Developer

Responsibilities:

• Provide software support for the Ship Self-Defense System  throughout its lifecycle.
• Test and evaluate new software solutions, including conducting an analysis of alternatives when necessary.
• Research and implement software modules to enable existing software to interact with new cabinet hardware using embedded systems and customized operating environments.
• Modify existing software to add functionality and address bugs identified in Trouble Reports.
• Conduct extensive testing and evaluation of software upgrades, resolving system bugs and enhancing system availability.
• Develop and implement system health and status software to improve accuracy in the Navy's Ship Self-Defense System.

Qualifications:

• Professional development experience in either C#, Java, C++ or PHP.
• Proficient in relational database design.
• Strong academic background and must be in current pursuit of undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science or related fields.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and concepts.
• Strong initiative and ownership.
