Software Development Engineer I

Required experience and skills:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or similar Proficiency in Java/Scala programming language for backend development Good understanding relational database management systems and command over SQL query language. 2 to 4 years of experience of software development. Strong understanding of selecting and utilizing appropriate data structures and algorithms to create running programs
• Experience with high concurrency via multi-threaded programming Experience with performance measurement, bottleneck analysis, and resource usage monitoring Understanding and clear concepts of functional. modular and object-oriented programming. Sound working knowledge of microservices style of architecture and rest api's. Experience with data access and computing in highly distributed cloud systems Strong skills in Programming and version control processes (git/vcs) Good exposure to work on Agile methodology of software development and exposure on Atlassian suite Confluence, Jira etc. Experience contributing throughout the Software Development Life Cycle experience including planning, designing, development, unit testing, other testing and debugging Effective communication skills, with a demonstrable ability to convey complex ideas to others in a concise and clear manner.

Desirable experience and skills :

• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or R Experience in performance measurement, bottleneck analysis, and resource usage monitoring Significant experience in multi-threading and memory management Familiarity with probabilistic and stochastic computational techniques Experience with data access and computing in highly distributed cloud systems Experience in agile development.
