Telecommunications Engineer

Job Description :Primary Responsibilities Scope, estimate, plan and design Telecom system for transmission line and substation projects Develop documents, drawings / diagrams, specifications, and testing procedures for utility Telecommunication systems Design networks using fiber optics, microwave, radio, leased service, or cellular utilizing client standards or developing new standards. Create bills of materials for Telecommunication equipment, ordering materials and coordinating construction activities Write project scope(s), sequencing plans, client roadmaps, and budgets Travel to the site to gather information and to coordinate with client team, external contractors and internal project teams Coordinate, stage and plan installation and commissioning with clients and subcontractors Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or similar from an accredited program Must have a minimum of 4 years of design experience on critical communication systems Must be capable of applying knowledge of telecommunication principles and business practices Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills Self-motivated, yet a team player Flexibility to work in other Infrastructure, Power, Water, or Power Delivery business lines if required Previous utility company experience preferred Travel less than 10 with some overnight stays
