Job Role : Unix Build Engineer

Job Location: Bothell, WA

 

Primary and secondary skills : Unix server build ( Building RedHat/Suse Linux servers on HP and Dell Servers, Puppet and Scripting Knowledge is required )

 

Job Description :

• Working experience on HP & Dell hardware, and provisioning/Build operating systems onto those platforms. IBM Hardware Experience is a plus.
• Senior / Expert level Linux OS proficiency in the flavors that the enterprise provides; knowing RHEL & SUSE Linux.
• Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments, especially delivering and troubleshooting VMs in a VMware environment.
• Experience with suse and redhat Linux servers in virtualized and Physical environments
• Knowledge on puppet/ chef/Ansible in configuration management or other tools.
• Knowledge on storage protocols such as iSCSI, Fibre Channel, networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routes and experience to configure L2/L3
• Experience in working on source controller tools like GitHub (GIT), Subversion.
• Full life-cycle experience (design through delivery and support), Developing and improving   CI/CD standards, practices and procedures.
• Familiarity with the fundamentals of Hardware andLinux scripting languages.  Windows scripting is a plus.
• Ability to build and monitor services on production servers.
• Knowledge of AIX and working knowledge on power series servers is added plus
• Knowledge of servers, storage and switches and other solutions relevant to the infrastructure
• Assist in capacity planning, data center buildouts and performing software / firmware upgrades.
• Assist in standardized design of new and existing processes and policies.
• Excellent communication skills are a must, both written and verbal.
• Understanding of change management and requests processes and ability to execute such

Education/Experience :

• Bachelor’s degree or six or more years of relevant work experience.
• 8+ years of experience and background in maintaining Large Enterprise Infrastructure.
• 8+ years of experience on Virtual environment / cloud or same level of work environment.

IT certifications such as RHCE, RHCA, RHCSA added advantage.
