UX/UI Designer

Looking for a designer who will own the design process for our website and other content. You will be involved with researching and gathering requirements, understanding user needs, and creating clear & easy to understand drawings/mockups for the team to implement. Your goals are around creating/improving the usability & effective messaging of our content.

This is an unpaid internship that presents you with a great opportunity to add quality work experience to your resume, to gain valuable experience in UX/UI design for a startup company, and to learn more about working with international students from around the world.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, improve the overall layout & design of our company website
• Create, maintain, improve the overall design of other content as needed
• Research user needs and investigates UX/UI improvement opportunities
• Brainstorm with the team to define objectives for UX/UI changes
• Provide user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, for the team to implement
• Communicate your design/vision clearly with the team, and ensure the end product aligns with your design

Qualifications

• College degree in a related field
• 1 year UX/UI experience (previous internship/school projects can be considered)
• Knowledge of Adobe design products including Photoshop, Illustrator, or any design tools
• Willingness to explore, iterate, and collaborate on difficult problems
• Able to present previous projects
• Comfortable working both individually and in team settings
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Detail-oriented and critical thinker.

An exceptional candidate will also have:

• Experience with web design
• Experience with WordPress
• Mandarin speaker

• 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday
