Website Developer

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for the creation of our clients' development site. The Website Developer works from a mockup from Design and sees the site through to launch. This role requires knowledge of the Dealer Inspire platform and the relationship between the Common Theme and Dealer Theme (parent/child WordPress themes). Website Developers must be knowledgeable of available tools and resources and know where to implement custom solutions. Attention to detail is key to execute designs in a pixel perfect manner while considering functionality and performance.

WEBSITE DEVELOPER

The Website Developer builds upon the responsibilities of a Junior Website Developer adding more knowledge of key skills and the Dealer Inspire platform including more experience with available plugins and tools, and intermediate abilities with key development languages.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Develop client websites from mockup to launch;

• Build custom functionality required to execute design or other requirements;

• Build custom PHP partials or page templates;

• Communicate internally or directly with clients on trouble spots and alternatives;

• Work with other teams such as design and project management to ensure timely delivery of projects.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of Wordpress - custom themes, templates (parent theme and child theme), scoped template parts, hooks and filters, custom post types;

• Intermediate knowledge of Javascript;

• Intermediate knowledge of PHP;
