Business Analyst

Accountabilities:

Create project requirements through meetings with end users to enhance business processes.
Evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
Translate documented project requirements into functional and non-functional specifications for Business Intelligence reports and applications. Translate specifications into new reports or modifications to existing reports. May perform testing/validation.
Determine testing needed to assure the functionality and integrity of reporting solutions, conduct user acceptance testing and evaluate testing results recommending and/or taking corrective action as necessary
Able to build SQL queries, test existing queries, assisting technical team when necessary.
Ensure that the use of business intelligence applications enhances business decision making capabilities
Analyzes results of analytical testing to ensure the derived solution matches the documented business need.
Assists in the training of end users and evaluates the effectiveness of implemented technologies.
Create ad-hoc queries & reports as requested and provide on-going analytical support for these requests
Able to build required report in requested in method in timely manner

Knowledge

Tableau skills, able to build a fully functioning report from query to dashboard
Knowledge of requirements gathering & documentation
Knowledge in business analytics and the interpretation of the output
Knowledge in Oracle for reporting purposes
Microsoft PowerPoint/Office, Microsoft Visio
Excellent communication, presentation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, marketing, or sales.
Minimum 1-2+ years of business analyst experience
Experience serving in a Business Analyst role within a retail organization preferred
Proven experience in working with all phases of the technology project lifecycle
