Job Title: Engineering Assistant to the Executive VP, CinchSeal

Summary: CinchSeal, a leader in dynamic shaft seal design, is looking for an Engineering Assistant to support our Executive VP. This role blends technical know-how with sales skills, suitable for someone who excels in a dynamic and innovative setting. The assistant will handle a variety of technical and non-technical tasks, primarily focused on responding swiftly to email requests for quotes and technical inquiries from our global sales team.

Essential Duties:

  • RFQ Management: Help manage Request for Quotes (RFQs), working closely with engineering, sales, and production teams to meet technical objectives.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide support on dynamic shaft seal engineering concepts. Timely preparation of technical documents for customers and sales teams.
  • Communication Liaison: Serve as a key contact point between the Executive VP, staff, sales, production, and customers. Maintain confidentiality.
  • Research and Analysis: Perform research and data analysis to aid decision-making. Prepare necessary reports and summaries.
  • Team Collaboration: Engage with team members for input and feedback, valuing their contributions to maintain a collaborative environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify issues and suggest solutions. Present problems with actionable solutions to the Executive VP.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks to modify or make engineering drawings: AutoCAD experience is not sufficient. We work in a SOLIDWORKS design environment.

Work Environment:

  • This position requires office attendance; it is not remote.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Strong communication skills for technical sales.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, preferably HubSpot.
  • Problem-solving abilities for customer queries and sales cycles.
  • Relationship building with customers, distributors, and stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Work with engineering on application sheets and designs.
  • Handle inbound sales calls, emails, and inquiries.
  • Generate quotes and coordinate with engineering for technical drawings.
  • Provide technical and commercial clarifications.
  • Follow up on quotations and leads.
  • Support distributors, sales team, and end-users with necessary information.
  • Resolve technical support requests or issues.
  • Identify customer needs and sales opportunities.
  • Present information effectively in small group settings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. This is the most important skill required.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in industrial sales or a technical background in power transmission
  • Knowledge of dynamic shaft seal design and application preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, HubSpot(preferred).
  • Ability to manage confidential information responsibly.
  • Proactive, decisive, and solution-focused.
  • Positive attitude, and team player.
